Internships, labs and practice courses

The internship is scheduled for the third year of the program, but students may take it in their second year as an additional (supernumerary) course. It has a minimum duration of 150 hours of activity, equivalent to 6 ECTS credits. It may take place in Italy or abroad, provided that the project is agreed upon with the internship supervisor (reference professor) before it begins and approved upon completion, with proper documents presentation.

Register on Almalaurea https://www.almalaurea.it/  Upload your CV and make it ‘visible’. You can
look for internship opportunities or reach out directly to any company or organization that matches
your interests. Please check if a convention is already active here: https://unipv-jobplacement.almalaurea.it/it/lau/lau_aziendeconvenzionate/
The steps before you start are:
- A free online convention (if not active) between the University of Pavia and the company/organization though the Almalaurea platform; for any problem please contact the
conventions office: stage@unipv.it The platform is mainly in Italian, you can ask for forms and
assistance in English to filodiretto->internships. This may require 5-12 days.
- An individual internship project to be approved through Almalaurea by professor Berkofsky.
The full process may require 2-10 days.

  1. Find a suitable internship.
  2. Enable an agreement between the University of Pavia and the institution where you expect to be working as an intern. Check here if there is an agreement already in place:
  3. If not, the agreement (convenzione) can be arranged through the Almalaurea platform. When the agreement is finalised, you can complete the project for the internship as specified in the following step.
  4. Fill in details regarding the internship project on the ALMALAUREA online portal here.
  5. Either you or the company need to contact  the direct line filo diretto->internships  that will send the agreement and the project form (in English) to fill out. Alternatively, you can download and print the agreement, and then sign it.
  6. Now you can commence the internship. Please remember that 150 hours internship is equal to 6 credits, 225 hours = 9 credits, 300 hours = 12 credits.
  7. Send the following documents to stagedsps@unipv.it:
    • the final questionnaire which needs to have been filled in by your internship tutor (modulo di giudizio finale a cura del tutor aziendale) on the online portal ALMALAUREA (the link to the questionnaire is generated and sent directly to the internship tutor at the end of the training project. If the total number of hours was reached sooner than expected, an early closure of the internship can be requested through the online portal ALMALAUREA);
    • the form with detail of the hours undertaken that has been filled in during the internship, duly signed by the internship tutor on each page.

If you are going to register credits gained through courses offered by the Osservatorio di Pavia, you must send the document certifying completion of the course to stagedsps@unipv.it

For further information on the procedure, please contact stagedsps@unipv.it

Contact the direct line filodiretto -> internships for proper forms and insurance before the start.
Prof. Berkofsky is the SSGC professor to contact for approval on the contents.
After the completion of the internship you will send to stagedsps@unipv.it and axel.berkofsky@unipv.it the following documents:

  • Project proposal (before the start of the internship)
  • Final documentation stating the total number of hours completed
  • Student report
